Know Your Flag:

Who are we to tell you what you should and should not do with your American Flag?

We are an American-owned company from Nevada selling American-made flags as Patriotism4Americans. We plan to sell and promote American patriotic items from Patriotism4Americans.us. We believe that America is the greatest country in the world and that being an American and standing for American values is our patriotic duty.

The U.S. National Flag Code, established in 1923 and enacted as Public Law in 1942, details the proper display and respect for the United States flag.

The flag should not be on display outdoors during bad weather.

The flag should not be used for advertising or embroidered on cushions, handkerchiefs, napkins, or boxes.

The flag should never be worn as apparel, bedding, or drapery.

It should never be displayed upside down unless trying to convey a sign of distress or great danger.

The flag should never touch anything beneath it; this includes water, merchandise, and even the floor.

When displayed horizontally or vertically against a wall, the union should be uppermost, and to the flag’s right, that is, to the observer’s left.

When displayed in a window, the flag should be displayed the same way, with the union or blue field to the observer’s left in the street.

Clean and damage-free flags should always be used.

Dirty, ripped, wrinkled, or frayed flags should not be used. When flags are damaged, they should be destroyed dignifiedly.

The U.S. flag should flow freely in the wind or a lobby

A flag should be held upright with staff and finials, symbolizing openness as people pass by, rather than being confined by metal arm spreaders to seek attention.

If displayed correctly, clamping a U.S. flag to a vehicle’s antenna or right fender is acceptable. Service flags should follow the order of Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard. When displayed with other flags, the U.S. flag should be first, centered, and placed higher unless national flags are present at the same height. Buntings are a suitable way to decorate for Independence Day without disrespecting the U.S. flag.
